Hi Guys we are invited to the Japanese Baptist Temple Church for an Iaido and Kendo Demonstration. The event is a fund raiser for the victims of the Earthquake and Tsunami in Japan. She also mentioned that there is a possibility that a news team may be coming to cover the event (however i have not confirmed this yet).

the venue will be held in the gymnasium this time around, and the event is supposed to be larger than the previous kendo demo.

In 2005 the tournament was restructured into two divisions, a Mudansha division (Ik Kyu and below) and a Yudansha division (Sho Dan to San Dan), with the Nabeshima Cup awarded to the winner of the Mudansha division. In 2007 a new Youth division was added. 2011’s Nabeshima Cup taikai will be also offering Women’s division (Mudansha to San Dan for age 16+), making Nabeshima Cup a four division event: Mudansha, Yudansha, Women, and Youth. The tournament is open to members of the Southwest Kendo and Iaido Federation (SWKIF), All United States Kendo Federation (AUSKF), and/or the International Kendo Federation (IKF).
