BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu)
BJJ, or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art based on the ground fighting techniques of Japanese Jujutsu that were modified and refined in Brazil by the Gracie family. It focuses on the skills of taking an opponent to the ground, controlling their movement, gaining a dominant position, and using a number of techniques to force them into submission via pins, joint locks, or chokes.
BJJ revolves around the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend themself against a bigger, stronger, heavier opponent by using weight distribution and leverage.
